Wild Horses In Danger Run Wild, Run Free

Did you know there are less than 30,000. wild horses left roaming the western states?

Did you know that there are 4.5 million cattle that has caused the dwindling horse numbers?

The Cattle ranchers feel that that the less than 30,000 horses are over grazing the land preventing their 4.5 million cows to graze!!

The wild horse numbers have dwindled from 2 million in the 19th century to 25,000 - 30,000 remaining. Between 1971 and 2006 an average of 200,000 wild horses were captured and removed by the BLM a Department of the Interior Agency. They were able to do this by finding a loophole in the Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act of 1971, which protects the horses from inhumane roundups on public lands in Western states and prevents their sale for slaughter.

Did you know that the horses that have been removed are sold for food abroad, neglected and or abused?

These round up techniques used to catch the horses use helicopters to run the wild horses down and force them into corrals where they are at that point removed to God knows where!

I came across this information by reading an article that Ralph Lauren published on their web site! Thank you Ralph Lauren for bringing this to our attention and caring enough to inform the public of what is actually going on!

The Wild Horse has been R.L.'s icon for many many years! It is so fitting that they help out this cause.
