Kim's Wedding

Written by my friend Dong Wood

I logged onto http://www.directstartv.com/ and upgraded our television package. We did it just in time for me to catch the “Kardashian Wedding Special.” I have always followed the gossip magazines and loved the Kardashians. Since we moved, we hadn’t gotten E! I realized how much I was missing watching the show and as soon as I saw that Kim’s wedding was going to be televised, I had to make sure that I got it. I really enjoyed the wedding special. I think that they are a close family, but I never really like Kris Humphries, Kim’s husband. So when I saw on television the other day that Kim had filed for divorce from Kris Humphries after only seventy-two days, I was disappointed. I was also really disappointed that they filed for divorce less than a month after their wedding special aired! I guess sometimes celebrity marriages are doomed and fail, especially if they are on reality television. I am hoping that Khloe and Lamar still last, because I think they are a cute couple and love them. They got married after three weeks!

Why is Entourage my favorite show?

Why is Entourage my favorite show?

Thanks to Joaquin Hester

Entourage is my favorite show currently and I can't afford to miss an episode. As a matter of fact, I have to record it just to make sure that every episode is stored in case I get tied up doing something else, which happens quite a bit when you have a family running around you 24/7.

The best thing to do is pop up some popcorn, kick back on the sofa, and get prepared for this great comedy about a Hollywood actor with his own entourage. Taking a look into the life of being a celebrity in this modern day and age is awesome, throwing it into a comical series like Entourage is epic in my opinion.

For tho! se of you who haven't heard about Entourage, I get it on HBO which comes with my package of premium channels I subscribe to fromDirectStarTv.com. Depending on where you live, it's usually pretty affordable and HBO seems to be the best bundle since they have Entourage and other great TV show series and movies.

The Hills Is Clearly The Best Reality Show On TV

This was written by guest blogger Sammy Renolds

I love Tuesday nights. Do you know why? If you watch the same show that I do, then you might. I’m referring to The Hills. At first, I thought I would hate it. The only reason I watched it was because my wife talked me into it. She had watched the other reality show when they were all in high school. This is another reason I felt I wouldn’t like it – I wasn’t familiar with the characters. But, I will say that it is very entertaining. And what people underestimate is the quality of the music during the show. It’s very trendy and fitting for the mood of the upcoming scene. If we add all the beautiful women, then that’s another plus. And if you are a woman, then I suppose you would find the men beautiful.

I think the reason people love The Hills so much is because as they’re watching it, they’re dreaming of having that lifestyle. But, some of the people on the show are more likeable than others. For instance, Spencer is not the most likeable person in the world. Justin is a distant second. Come to think of it, the only person I really like on the show is Audrina. I guess I only watch it for the drama between all of them. I love drama, as long as I’m not a part of it. The season is winding down and I’m looking forward to Tuesday so I can sit down, relax, and watch The Hills on my satellite tv. Now I just need to learn how to record satellite tv.

iPretty Wild/i's Alexis Neiers Breaks Silence on Burglar Bunch: "I Didn't Do Anything Wrong"

Part of the Hollywood Bling thefts has come to light... as if you didn't know already! I didn't sorry, 40 something Mom of two children who are not at this age yet!!! I was too busy worrying about their daily lives than to watch the next reality show... but then it was on in the middle of the day. It caught my attention... the scantily clad Sister's... and so on...

The sweet Sister of the new reality show "Pretty Wild" has been convicted or has she?

The "E" reality show which premiered prior to her conviction shows her having to change her wardrobe - to more conservative - for the court.... I started watching thinking is was a younger version of the "Housewives" shows......... only to find out that these young, underage hoochie type gals wanting attention are for sure getting it.

You can read on further from E online for more info:

iPretty Wild/i's Alexis Neiers Breaks Silence on Burglar Bunch: "I Didn't Do Anything Wrong"

All I have to say is "where are their Parents?"

Enjoy or NOT!

Cupcakeasaurus CD Release Party With Mr. Tom Seley In Birmingham Michigan

For immediate release

‘Cupcakeasuarus!’ brings smart, imaginative rock ‘n roll to ‘tweens

Popular local musician, Mr. Seley, releases second album May 23

ROYAL OAK, Michigan.—Kids of all ages are invited to attend the CD release concert for Mr. Seley’s second album, “Cupcakeasaurus,” from 2–3 p.m. Sunday, May 23, at the Baldwin Public Library in Birmingham, Michigan.

The album, which features songs such as, Pluto is a Planet, Stone Age Kid and the title track, Cupcakeasaurus!, builds on Mr. Seley’s past success with Eat Your Books (And Read Your Vegetables) offering kids in the ‘tween years (8-12 years old) a rare mix of age-appropriate lyrics and rock that plays to their sensibilities.

“I wanted this album to be even more rock n’ roll,” says Tom (Mr.) Seley, who also teaches third- and fourth-graders at Birmingham Covington School. “More rock ‘n roll provides more opportunity for audience participation, including parents, and a way for my band, The Troublemakers, to show how fun it is to play music.”

On the surface, the songs are fun, catchy and dance-able. But Seley says he tries to write music that will grow with kids and provides an opportunity for them to use their imagination.

“I always try to respect their intelligence and level of humor. I also try to foster creativity through my songs,” he says. “Kids love to sing along and imagine themselves in the roll of the narrator, which is why I wrote Stone Age Kid. I thought it would be fun for kids to sing that song and imagine that they are a Stone Age Kid, suddenly transported into modern times.”

During the free concert, Mr. Seley and The Troublemakers will play his popular songs while kids and their families sing along.

Seley says he decided to write music specifically for 'tweens when he realized little quality music existed specifically for 8-to-12-year-olds. While younger kids enjoy Raffi, Barney and Sesame Street, once they reach age 7 or 8, they consider this music “baby-ish,” according to Seley.

“Popular music on the radio—with its boyfriend/girlfriend themes—is not yet developmentally appropriate for these kids,” he says. “Third and fourth-graders deserve great music too, so I set out to write songs for this age group.”

Seley, a longtime guitarist and singer/songwriter, has led a sing-along with the kids at Birmingham Covington School each week after school for the past five years. Staff members, administration and students at Birmingham Covington School encouraged him along the way.

Seley aspires to share his music with as wide an audience as possible and continue teaching his third- and fourth-grade multi-age classroom in Birmingham.

1The album will be available on CD at the concert, on his website,

New York Times Interview With Make Up Founder Bobbie Brown

This Sunday's New York Times has a brilliant interview with Bobbie Brown, the Founder of Bobbie Brown cosmetics.

She is definitely her own person and after years of running her own company she has found that out.

Bobbie does not wear high heels she wears tennis shoes, that's what makes her comfortable "High Heels? They just don't fit" she says. High heels isn't what she is about as in they never felt right. She does however carry them just in case she needs them for photo shoots. She also mentions that she sits on the floor with her employees while working and is involved in every aspect of her company.

She hires people and also believes that you should start at the bottom. If you love a company and want to work there, if there is a receptionist job you get that job and "don't just sit there!" be an open sponge and work your way up.

My opinion is that this is so true. It would definitely make you appreciate what you worked so hard for.

Oprah To Retire From Talk Show Next Year!

Announced today Oprah Winfrey will retire from her famous talk show next year. She has said with teary eyes today that this will be her last year and has started the count down.

Oprah a staple in many many women and men's afternoon lives for what some twenty five years. Oprah has touched many lives and helped to many people even starting a girls school in Africa. Giving to the needy through her Angle network, publishing a magazine and her world famous "Oprah's favorite things list".

Anything she has touched seem to turn to gold for the person lucky enough to get their items on her show.

She will be missed but I think she will not be gone. My guess is that she is up to something else that will make everyone happy ;)

God Bless you Oprah Winfrey!!!

Happy Fall!

Jimmy Choo now at H&M Stores!

How exciting JIMMY CHOO is now at H&M stores! And at a very reasonable price point also! For around a hundred dollars you can pick up a pair and not have to spend an arm and a leg!

We LOVE this!

With today's economy I am glad to see that some designers are realizing that not everyone can spend like they used to and probably will not go back to spending the way they once did before.

Spotted recently at the Jimmy Choo launch party for H&M many celebrities arrived to show their support for the show designer and store. Lisa Rinna, Harry Hamlin, Gabrielle Reece, Tamara Mellon and Margareta van den Bosch, Paris and Nicky Hilton to name a few.

Happy Shopping!

Rachel Zoe Project - Love it ;)

I love The Rachel Zoe Project TV Show found on Bravo!

Stylist to the Stars Rachel Zoe has the reality cameras following her through out her hectic days dressing Stars like Demi Moore, Liv Tyler and Anne Hathaway.

Finding them Emmy, Oscar and party dresses, filling their wardrobe for them because they are too busy to shop for themselves.

I have heard and read numerous rag magazines bashing her party ways and her anorexic weight issues as well as her rants and hissy fits. The show addresses all of these and to my surprise she doesn't at all come across that way.

Rachel has made a name brand for herself and works very, very hard to promote her business and her name. Unlike the Paris Hilton's who are just famous for absolutely no reason other than having rich parents!!!

If you love fashion hit Bravo and check out the show. You can see behind the scenes at photo shoots, fashion shows and parties.

Love it!

Ellen DeGeneres Show Lawsuit?

The Ellen Show is tangled in a lawsuit! Apparently the music the shows plays on the hit talk show as she dances has copy rights and the show didn't get permission to play them on TV.

Okay who messed this on up?

The New York Times reported that 1,000 songs were violated. 1,000 songs! That's a huge mistake on some ones part don't you think?

I don't think this isn't going to look good for Ellen being as she is also now going to be the new Judge on the American Idol show. She will be taking Paula Abdoul's place next year. A ton of fans are already upset with that one saying that Ellen doesn't have a clue when it comes to music or being a judge for the show. She will have very large shoes to fill.

I will keep you posted ;)

Whitney Houston Central Park New York City

This morning on Good Morning America Whitney Houston is about to appear from seclusion.

I am sitting here drinking my morning cup of Joe and patiently waiting. It's amazing on how the networks can make you sit glued to the TV and make you wait by giving you little tid bits making you think what your waiting to see is up next! Nope still more news. She is just around the corner.

A line of hundreds and hundreds of fans lined up starting early last night to be the first to see her. Whitney has been out of the lime light for quiet some time now. I remember the last time I saw her on TV she looked like a doped up mess. So skinny that her bones looked like they were going to pop through the skin an any moment and she could barely walk down the stairs.

Then there was her reality show with bad boy Bobbie Brown :( who I believe was just recently arrested again for something... So happy she finally got rid of him.

So here comes the Diva of all Diva's AND THEY CUT TO A COMMERCIAL!

And now a word from our sponsor: Did you know that General Motors Buick brand is still the most desired vehicle brand in China? Yes it is and has been. We sell more Buick's in china than in the entire United States! I drive a Buick, the Enclave and I absolutely LOVE it! It's a great SUV for Mom's.

Okay here she comes finally.....

She looks good! Still has that strong sound. Dressed in skinny leather pants, long beige silk like tunic and beige jacket.

It's live so she sounds pretty good. The first song choice is okay allot of ah oh oo's. Not something I would download.

Shouting out of breath from her first song she loves New York! Being welcomed back by the GMA crew she is saying how thankful she is to be back and saying she never left at the same time?

Diane telling her she was worried about her for the last seven years, Whitney saying back "don't worry, there is nothing to worry about".

She has a performance with her daughter Bobbie Christina and sings a couple old favorites for her fans.

Monday September 14th she will be on Oprah for a back to back day event and will spill the beans about her life, drugs and everything that has been going on for the last seven or so years of her life. Tivo time ;) That should be something interesting to see!

Happy almost end of Summer!

Neil Diamond - Hot Night In August/ NYC 2009

Caught a peek at the Neil Diamond NYC 2009 special while channel surfing... What a voice! What a guy!

Neil Diamond can still pack the house at his age ;) His voice still sounds as great as it did the very first time I listened to one of his songs. It almost brings tears to your eyes.

The camera crew took him to his old neighbor hood and to the home he grew up in. Some people didn't have a clue who he was and others welcomed him with open arms.

He didn't have a hard time filling the venue to capacity and the crowd was on their feet singing and dancing the entire show! Good for him... you go guy; :)

Wonderful!

Candy Spelling Speaks Out On Regis and Kelly

Candy Spelling is on Regis and Kelly right now speaking out against her Daughter Tori Spelling.

The long on going feud between Mother and Daughter has came to a head. She is accusing Tori of "making her the butt of a joke" on the reality show Tori and her Husband Dean star in.

Candy has also announced that she has not met her Grandchildren and did not go to the Birthday parties because she didn't want to be part of the reality show. She also said that she texts and calls Tori with no return response. She is hoping that being on this show and speaking out will be a "wake up call" to her Daughter.

Hummm.... what do you all think?

Did I also mention that she has written a book?

Paula Abdul and Dancing With The Stars?

Paul Abdul has been asked to sign on to be a judge or a contestant on the popular show Dancing With The Stars. So she will not be out of a job for long.

Rumor has it however, that she is still open to return to American Idol if the price is right for $10 million dollars. The drama continues!

I will keep you posted ;)

Paula Abdul's Exit From American Idol Why?

Paula Abdul is no longer on American Idol? Rumors say it was money related.

Paula Abdul an Idol judge for what, the last eight years has left the show. They are saying she had a history of being late, undependable, acting loopy, not paying attention as well as other issues. If this was the reason then why keep her for so many years?

A new gal (I don't even know her name!) was brought in as judge what last year? Was it a warning to Paula to get it together or leave? Did it work?

Rumor has it that it was all over money. The other two judges Simon and Randy apparently were making $15 million compared to $2 million Paula was bringing in (or something around that). Paula was asking for a raise, $12 million. She is or was on the show as much as the others, as a judge so why not?

I think she should have received a raise! Why were the others making so much more? Do you know the name of the "new gal"? I think it will be strange to watch the show with out Paula. I'm not a die hard fan but with out Paula sitting next to Simon arguing over the new up and coming talent just won't be the same :( It will be interesting to see what happens this Season.

There are rumors of Paula moving to a new show "So You Think You Can Dance". Maybe that's why she left or for another job. Let's hope so! I think Paula will be missed on American Idol. It's kind of like when all of a sudden they changed "Mr. Brady" the Dad from The Brady Bunch show. That didn't' sit well now did it.

Let me know what you think ;)

Happy Summer!

Thank You For Visiting!
